What is a time/astronomical switch?
A time/astronomical switch is a device designed for control the switching on and off of electrical circuits according to preset times and environmental conditions such as sunrise and sunset. This device combines the functionality of a traditional time switch with that of an astronomical switch, allowing more precise and flexible control of electricity based on both programmable schedules and daylight conditions. Time/astronomical switches are usually used for automated control of outdoor lighting, such as illuminated signs or garden and park lighting. They can also be used to control irrigation systems.
How it works
The time/astronomical switch works thanks to a timer that allows you to set the desired switching on and off times and thanks to a software inside the device, which allows it to calculate when the sun rises and when it sets. This is possible thanks to programs inside the instrument that allow it to analyze the latitude and longitude at which the device is located, depending on the geographical area set.
Mounting and compatibility tips
Inside the package there are:
- two frames in white and anthracite grey
- two front panels in white and anthracite grey
Vemer also provides Tempo-INT, adaptable to round flush-mounted boxes only.
How the product looks like
The device has the size of 2 modules. There is a large backlit display on the front of the switch to display the date, time and relay status.
Keypad lock function
The device has a "keypad lock" function with password, which is useful, for example, for installations in public places, prevents settings from being changed by unauthorized persons.
Other power supplies are available for all models on request.
