DIN rail-mounted electromechanical timer with selector and dip-switch for choosing between eight different programs, 230V AC power supply, from the size of one DIN module.

What is a staircase light timer and how it works
The staircase light timer is a device designed to manage the switching on of lights by means of a button. The light stays on for a set period of time, after which it then automatically turns off; simply press the button again to extend the lighting time. Usually used to control the switching on of staircase lights in order to avoid unnecessary waste of energy. The shutdown warning function helps to avoid being suddenly left in the dark when the timing is over.

Operations
The device features on the front:

  • a trimmer for setting the timing, which can range from 30 seconds to 20 minutes
  • two signal LEDs, a green one indicating the presence of power supply and a red one indicating relay tripping
  • a two-position operation mode selector, always on or programmed (8 operations)
  • dip-switch for selecting the desired function

The eight functions available for the programmed operation mode are:

  • always off = lights always off
  • timed resettable = the light turns on when the button is pressed and stays on for the defined time, but if the button is pressed again the lighting time is extended
  • timed resettable with turn-off warning = the light turns on when the button is pressed and stays on for the defined time, but if the button is pressed again the lighting time is extended. When the set time is about to expire, it is signaled by the turn-off warning
  • timed pulse = the light turns on when the key is pressed and stays on for the defined time, but if the key is pressed again before the time expires, the light will turn off prematurely
  • timed pulse with turn-off warning = the light turns on when the key is pressed and stays on for the defined time, but if the key is pressed again before the time expires, the light will turn off prematurely. When the time is about to expire, it is signaled by the turn-off warning
  • pulses - step-by-step = pressing the button turns the lights on, the next press of the button turns the lights off
  • always on = lights always on
  • 60-minute timed pulse = pressing the button turns on the lights, which stay on for 60 minutes, but if the button is pressed again before the time expires, the light will turn off prematurely
